Forgetful me! I should have posted something over the weekend about our studio's new release named, "Adrenaline." But it was a very busy weekend here at the studio. Major things are happening, so make sure you stay tuned for some significant announcements in the next couple of days.

The nominees for the FM Awards were announced over the weekend and Phantasy Films recieved an outstanding 13 different nominations. Now it would be unfair to say that we alone recieved them as most of them are due to having fine producers and collabrative partners in the filmmaking process.

The Immortals, our co-production with Studio111467, recieved 8 nods, including, Best Film, Best Cast and Best Website. The Death of Alydar picked up 3 nods including one for Best Film. Of Love and Shadows and Breaking and Enterting both grabbed one nod for Best Orginal Story and Best Supporting Actor respectively.

Thanks to all the players who voted and remember to vote for the winners. We'll see yall at the awards on Sunday.

"Breaking and Entering" left theaters after a very succesful seven week run totalling a respectable gross of $95,039,711. I would like to thank producer Senor Weird for the oppurtunity to bring his film to the screen. Our second collaboration with Senor will be the upcoming, "Shoot to Kill."

We were sad to learn that Memnon Pictures choose to retire from Film-Mogul. As a result, his producing effort with Phantasy Films, "La Vallee Des Morts" has been canceled. We wish Memnon Pictures the best in all future endeavors.

We are a little bit sad, but mostly very happy to announce that after a record thirteen week run in the Film-Mogul theaters, our film, "Of Love and Shadows" closed it's run with a final gross of $169,427,049. I would like to personally thank the films producer, Ritche Stevens for a wonderful effort on his part. I look forward to working with him again in the future. This was certianly a unique and wonderful experience (not to mention profitable).

Today I signed a deal with producer Aaron Rowland to bring Charlie Ramm's film, "Fallen Angels" to the Film-Mogul theaters. The film will be written by Ramm and produced and edited by Rowland. Rowland will also cover all casting and advertising costs.

We have set a release date of Febuary 21st, 2003

Casting will begin immediately (and we can't wait).

A nice opening for Gone Away in the number four spot. We're very happy. Budgeted at around 25m she looks sure to be another money maker.

Another nice weekend at the Box Office for Phantasy Films.

The Backwards Web passed the 100m dollar mark in it's remarkable 8th week. The film looks to end it's run this week with a total gross of around 103m.

The Death of Alydar remained in 5th place and finished ahead of "Revolution" the film which beat Alydar on it's opening weekend. In another week or two Alydar should surpass Revolution's total gross. We are super happy about the success of Alydar which moved out of the red after only it's first week and looks to make us a healty return for sometime.

Breaking and Entering became the highest grossing comedy in Film-Mogul history and its still going strong.

And of course "Of Love and Shadows" continues to role as it surpassed the 150m dollar mark in its 11th week.

"The Death of Alydar" opened to a fantastic 36m over the weekend. We believe the film will have strong legs throughout the holiday season.

On another note, "Shopped" finished it's theater run with a respectable $ 44,204,342 total.

Additionally our film with Night Creations, "Gone Away" went into production last Friday. The film stars Kevin Bairstow, Josh Hartnett, Julia Stiles and Kevin Bacon. It is directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes.

Also on another note the release date for "The Greatest Show on Earth" has been moved back a week to January 17th, 2002. I did not realize that one of the three virtual filmmakers I learned and owe the most to, Dark Savant, was also releasing a film on January 10th. Out of respect (and quite a lot of fear) I've decided to move back "Greatest Show" one week.

One more thing...has anyone else noticed that our little film that could, "Of Love and Shadows" is still in the Top 10 after eight weeks, is still raking in the dough (135m so far) and doesn't look to stop anytime soon? Just wondering. :)

Well "Breaking and Entering" had a pretty good weekend taking in almost 20m. If you haven't read it yet....then what are you waiting for! The second film from Phantasy Films and Senor Weird "Shoot to Kill" just went into production a few days ago. Look for that one in Febuary 2003.

In other news our big Thanksgiving film, "The Death of Alydar" opens in just three days time. We are super excited about the film here at Phantasy Films. Today the film is screening for critics and industry insiders. Look for it in theaters this Friday, the 22nd.

Adaptation Contest Details

Don't we all just love contest? Well here's one you can't refuse....

Here's the question: Does anyone out there want to make Indiana Jones 4, Jurrasic Park 4, ID42, a good X-Men movie, Gremlins: The Return, Predotar 3, The Hobbit, The Ring 2, The Return of Hannibal Lector, Star Trek XI, The Flash, MI3, E.T. 2 or even Return to Titantic?

Well if you do then now is you chance!

Phantasy Films is giving all producers a chance to create a movie based on their favorite franchise or book or TV Show or play or anything else.

Now you have to give me a 1 in 1000 idea. I mean it has to be fantastic. It has to be down right beautiful if you want to actually produce it. You have to guarentee that you will write it.

If you think you are worthy and you have that 1 in a 1000 idea then email me at phantasy_films@hotmail.com. Make sure the topic says, "Contest Idea"

I will be choosing one and only one idea. (But I might change by mind if I see a 1 in 1,000,000 idea )

Now I'm being serious about this. I do not want silly ideas about another Titantic movie or about Batman vs. Superman on Mars. I want serious, solid ideas. It can be any franchise, any comic book, any novel, any character. But spend time on the idea and send it my way. Producers do not have the funds to do this and that is way I will make this one time offer. I personally am not a huge fan of adaptions but I'm willing to give that one producer with a hit idea the chance to do something fantastic and fun. That is, in the end, what this game is all about.

I will announce a winner in two weeks.

A very busy Halloween of wheeling and dealing to sign the major stars for our films...

- Vincent Cassell signed to star in "La Vallee Des Morts" alongside Johnny Depp. Alex Proyas also came on board as the director.
- Annette Benning and Anne Heche signed to star in "Kubrick." We are also most honored to have one of our favorite thespians, "Robert De Niro," along to play the role of Stanley Kubrick's father, Jack.
- Micheal Douglas signed on as the lead in "Nessie." Scott Caan also agreed to take a supporting role in the film.
- Kevin Bacon inked to star in "Gone Away."
- Brain Cox joined the growing cast of "The Death of Alydar."

At last an update! A film we are very excited about at Phantasy Films, with a great cast, finally goes infront of the cameras tomorrow. Take the Money and Run staring Nicholas Cage, Helen Hunt and Owen Wilson begins production tomorrow under the watchful eye of Oscar-winning director Quentin Tarantino. No release date has been set yet. But we are looking for interested poster makers.

The release date for "The Immortals" has moved back 5 days to Christmas Day, 2002. Go out and bring the entire family!

Signed a deal with writer Marty Poole today to produce and release his very first feature, "Gone Away."

A breif synopis: Drake Valentine's life has been a torn up bag of emotions. At age 12 his mother committed suicide because of the beatings she received from his father. He has lived the last 6 years with him, and now he wants to escape all the memories, all the pain. He wants to start over. Then one day he says to his Boss, this is my last paycheck. I quit. The next week will offer him the most turbulent times in his life. Will Drake escape the Small-town in Montana that has held him down so long?

We signed a deal with Chavez today to producer his first film "The Death of Alydar." Here is a breif summary:

Alydar was once one of the world’s fastest race horses. Owned by the world’s most famous horse farm in Kentucky, Calumet Farms, he fought tough in the 1978 Triple Crown. He was a close second in every race and became a star. Life after racing treated him even better. Commanding $250,000 in stud fees, he earned his owners millions of dollars a year for 200 “trips to the barn” and produced some of horse racing’s most prized offspring. His career ended in 1978, but he had many good years left in him.
In November of 1990, still the prime of his life, Alydar died of injuries he brought on to himself, a severely broken leg caused by kicking the door of his stable so hard the rollers broke.
Calumet was in financial trouble. It owed on loans totaling over $100 million. With foreclosure nearing, unable to make its scheduled payment, the death of Alydar allowed Calumet to collect on the $36 million worth of insurance coverage it had on his head.
Kentucky, especially high-classed horse racing Kentucky, is a tight knit community. No one asked questions until a young, female prosecutor from Houston, along with a young FBI agent working his first case, showed up nearly ten years later with too many questions, receiving too few answers.
What could inspire their interest in the unfortunate death of a race horse, especially so many years later? What brought them to the rolling hills and white fences of Kentucky?

That film is all cast with the exception of the leading male role which we were hoping to pin on Tobey Macguire. We signed a deal today with R.L Morgon of Blame Society Productions to produce his drama entitled "Aurora". Here is a breif outline of the plot:

Coming-of-age story about a teenager(John Morris) moves to a suburb of Colorado from a small town in Texas with his photojournalist mother(Ray Ann Morris). When he arrives, he meets a group of people his age. Gets wrapped up in a world of addiction, suicide, sexual deviancy and decadence. Graphic, sad but ultimately hopeful film. Essentially, I've got this rough outline and characters. It will be up to the studio/producer who picks it up to come up with more details.

At this time we are looking for a director and exploring our casting choices for the shoot which is already scheduled for October 10th - 15th.

"Of Love and Shadows" prescreens

Writer and Executive Producer Ritchie Steven announced on Friday David Fincher's "Of Love and Shadows" has finished post-production and will be released wide on September 27th.

A special pre-screening which was held Thursday night for the executives of Phantasy Films, including CEO Ryan.

The dark romantic film stars Wes Bentley, Eliza Duskhu, Bruce Campell and Rachel Weisz. Effects house Digital Domain handled the SF chores of the film needed for David Fincher's stylistic approach and some blue screen work with Wes Bentley's character. The movies final running time is 1 hour and 44 minutes.

"The story is very much a love triangle between Wes, Eliza and the much older and exotic Rachel Weisz," Ritchie Steven said. "Wes is a normal hard working young man whose life is forever changed because of his lust for this stranger. The story deals a lot with lust vs. love and how life can change in unexpected ways at the blink of an eye."

Steven declined comment on what role Campbell plays in the film.

Dushku spoke on what it was like to go back and play the innocent girl after many tough girl roles, "It was different, I'll say that. In most of my early stuff I was the good girl. Then in "True Lies" I got to be the token hostage that Arnold had to save."

Duskhu who has been busy lately, having starred in Shimmering Lake Pictures' current release "Hit and Run" and the upcoming film "The Last Movie Ever Made".

Speaking a bit more than she should have, Dushku may have released a spoiler for the film. "While I am the good girl for most of the film, I did at least get to kick Rachel's [Weisz] ass toward the end!"

Phantasy Films will release "Of Love and Shadows" on September 27th, 2002.

Another day, a new gigantic deal. The sum of 20 million dollars will be awarded to writer franco panteleo for his script to the film, "The Greatest Show on Earth"

It was the winter of '67. The Cold War was in full swing and the race for space was on. Behind a veil of patriotism and the quest for technological superiority, there lay the shadow of doubt and deceit. The U.S. was always one step behind the Soviet Union and this was one race they couldn't afford to come in second. With little funding, questionable management decisions and the 'need to win' mentality of those around him, Bill "Ace" Galin, head of NASA was between the moon and a hard place. Trying desperately to have NASA perfect a manned rocket to the moon. His friend and aide, Pete "Petey" Sims, realises the unfeasibility of the project and sharing his concern with like-minded individuals, they decide that for the continued existence of NASA and in a misguided sense of patriotism, that they must win this race even if they have to lie about it. Under the guise of training, Petey commissions a stage set of the moon to be made, so as to simulate the moons environment for the astronauts to practice on. Questions surrounding the ‘sets’, accounting practices, spurs an investigation and the ‘sets’ true intentions are discovered. The ‘sets’ true intentions however are praised by some, including government officials and allowed to continue. Upon learning all this, Bill is further motivated to prove NASA’s worth and Apollo 11 is eventually ready. Speculation on Apollo 11 and the crews readiness are voiced, but put to rest on July 16, 1969. Over the next 4 days, complications and unforseen events take place that shock and amaze NASA. Was the Apollo 11 landing faked, or successful beyond any ones imagination. Did the world truly see The Greatest Show On Earth?

The film will be shooting from October 18th - 24th and will helmed by Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis.

We are also looking to cast the following roles Bill Galin, Pete Sims, the Astronauts and top government officials. We are in preliminary talks with George Clooney to star.

Another Day, another deal. This time it's with Scar Tissue Inc, to bring their action/crime flick "The Backwards Web" to the Film-Mogul world! The film will be shooting from September 25th to October 1st and will likely see a release in the following early October weekends. Look for details on casting in the days to come.

Our favorite quirky Cuban will be producing two seperate films for us. Senor recieved a 10m signing bonus for his ideas.

His first film will be Breaking and Enterting which you can look for in cinemas sometime in December.

I'm happy to announce a mega deal between ourselves, Studio 11.14.67 and Chihiro Films. The joint venture of the three studios will produce "The Immortals" an amazing fantasy/sci-fi adventure of Greek Gods controlling the modern world. Chihiro films will write and produce the films while Phantasy Studios and 11.14.67 equally back the film. Casting is now taking place on the film. It will be released around Christmas time 2002.

Filming began on "Wherever I May Roam" yesterday with a big change at the last moment. The picture's lead, Wes Bentley, unexpectedly had to cancel on us because of a conflict with another project he was working on. Fortunely for director Steven Soderbergh, James Mastrers was quickly secured by producer Tyler Durden and will now play the lead role of the doomed man in "Wherever I May Roam".

In other news Phantasy Film is also in negotiation with award winning producer Senor Weird to bring a number of his ideas to the Film-Mogul screens. Senor is the long time producer and admin at such sites as Virtaul Producer and Producer's Chair. His prior credits include "A Day at the Park", "A Novel Approach to Love" and "Tha H-Dog".

Well those baseball players can't negotiate worth a damn late into the night and have thusly robbed us of the greatest game (or at least my favorite) but Phantasy Films and Tyler Durden can certainly drain the midnight oil.

Late last night a 120-minute discussion produced a deal between Mega-Producer Durden and Phantasy Films. The project produced is a film called, “Wherever I May Roam.” The movie (which shares it's title with one heck of a good Metallica song - does anyone represent them cause I think I know what the title track of the film is going to be) is the story of a 20 year old man who is diagnosised with a terminal disease. The doctors give him just 30 days to live. Distraught and disgusted at life, our protagonist decides to hit the road to see how much he can find before it all fades to black.

The film will be written by Tyler Durden and directed by Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh.

Phantasy Films is overwhelmed at the opportunity this film presents. We have here a unique and gritty story of real people in real life. It is a story of interaction, of friendships made and friendships forgotten.

The film will feature some of the most talented young thespians of modern times. They include Wes Bentley in the title role, Emma Caulfield of "Buffy" fame, the natural beauty of Alexis Bendel and Erika Christensen who told us she was pleased to be working with Soderbergh after their success together on "Traffic". She also be working alongside the creepiness of John Malkovich and the refreshing humor of Dennis Miller. We are still looking to cast an older female or older male in supporting role of pivotal consequence.

"Wherever I May Roam", begins filming on September the 1st. The film will be released in October. Stay tuned for details.

Today we signed David Fincher to direct a yet untitled film. The "Untitled David Fincher Project" will be filming from Sept. 8th - 14th. The inked talent for the film includes Eliza Dushku, Jay Hernandez and Wes Bentley. There are persistant rumors in our halls that Nicole Kidman maybe interested in the film. We as of yet can neither confirm not deny this claim. More news as it arrives...

CEO Citizen Ryan was also able to finalize a deal for the production of "Darkness Stirring". The futuristic thriller will be shooting during the week of September 14th - 21st. The film will be directed by Geoffrey Wright and stars Patrick Fugit and Richard Roundtree.

F2 Films will be bringing us Darkness Stirring a futuristic thriller and Ritchie Stevens will present a yet untitled project.
